As long as its not Mecgar(what CD supply w/ their gun), I think you're safe!
$318 OTD is a good price, BTW.

Mec-gar mags are usually good mags as they are the supplier of mags for many makers. I have purchased several and had no problems with them.

I have

half a dozen Mec-gar mags and they all work flawlessly, so does the Novak my RIA came with.

Congrats on the new toy Quack.
I am sure it will serve you well.
I hear 'get this kind of gun' and get that brand'.
I have yet to see an ugly or bad 1911.
Show us some pics big guy.
BTW-318 is a very good price

The two that comes w/ my CD and my friend's CD are Mecgars, and they are both finicky specially with HP's. I switch to Wilson mags and all my ammo, regardless of bullet profile went bang! w/o a hitch. Its the only 1911 mag I can recommend for serious biz!

I have and use MecGar mags in a few

different calibers. Every magazine in each caliber works everytime.

Me thinks theres some unsubstantiated urban legend going around about the MecGar mags.

They supply the factory mags for several different gun companies so they cant be that bad.

Not saying that there are not better mags made, but the MecGars are not junk either. They work and work well as far as I've seen.

I'll buy them as long as they are available.

something I picked up reading about the CD mag problems.

Dissassemble and clean the mags with detergant or alcohol throroughly and try them again before throwing them away.

Probably a good idea with the RIs too.

A lot of troublesome mags streighten out when you do this.

RIA

Good for you.
I've seen those around and wondered about them. Shoot it alot and tell us how it goes.
Never met a 1911 I didn't like, although I've met a few that deserved better owners.

Here's a pic of mine. I posted a rundown on page 2 of the other Rock Island thread, so check that out. Hmmm....reminds me of an old sci-fi movie...."When Threads Collide," or something to that effect

Scooter .45,
Great looking grips! Do you take special order? I want one with sharp 30 lpi or more checkering. I like a rough feel and more friction.
