I have been considering the Browning .380 1911 pistol since I first found out about it. It looks like it uses a plastic frame too. It is about 15% smaller in size over a full size 1911, but it is still big enough to let you use all of your fingers to grip it with.

Yes, the Browning is a plastic frame. I did not realize that when I bought one. I was a little bummed, but I wanted a .380 to get my 11 year old daughter into the 1911 style. I am sure it will be fine for a couple of years.
