This is the Colt Government Tribute, a detailed replica of the iconic Colt M1911A1 made under license from Colt by Walther. In fact, it is the only fully-licensed replica of the M1911A1 on the market. Unlike the original, however, this extremely-faithful reproduction is chambered in economical 22 long rifle. Controls are identical to the original, and this pistol features all-metal construction, a 5-inch barrel, fixed sights, a thumb & grip safety, and a 12-round magazine.

      You can purchase a full size 1911/22 that will fit into your 1911 holsters . They are branded as Colt, but they are produced by Walther in Germany and imported by Umerex. I have such a pistol and it has performed very well. I use mine primarily as a training augment to my center fire semi autos. In that role it is an excellent firearm.

      If I'd known that I would have bought one. They're a lot cheaper than the Browning.
