Hi Nighthawk dudes!
I recently acquired a 2007 Nighthawk Vickers' Tactical with rail in a trade (along with a couple of Wilsons and a Baer). For the first two months I pretty much ignored the Nighthawk. Not sure why. I guess I had Wilson on the brain.
Over the last week I've been taking the Baer and Nighthawk to the range (both .45s) and shooting 2 rounds on one, 2 rounds on the other at different targets. The big surprise is that I'm more accurate with the Nighthawk. I'm also more accurate with the Nighthawk .45 than with either of my 9mm Wilsons at 20 yards.
I wonder why? The trigger feels to be about 4 lbs. (I don't yet have a scale). Trigger is pretty crisp, but not as crisp as the Baer. I really like the added weight of the rail and the built-in mag well on the Caspian frame.
Anyway, if I continue to be impressed, I think I might pick up an Officer Nighthawk that is for sale locally. Glad I picked this pistol up in trade!
All in all, though the Nighthawk seems to have less bling than my Wilsons, it just feels like it's tighter and honestly...of higher quality. I'm not saying that this is true, but compared to the Wilsons it's just, well, it's hard to explain.
