Hello All,
As to the subject matter of my post: I bought some 1500 grit emory cloth and polishing cmpd to remove scratches from my stainless Springfield, worked great. I then proceeded to polish all of the contact points on the frame and slide, and it actually made a difference! The action of the slide is now smoother and feels "slicker". All that I did is polish the beadblasted and rough areas to a mirror finish with the emory cloth. What an easy project. By the way, did I screw something up? Just wondering

Hi catmath 1911, no, I don't think you hurt anything, that 1500 will just polish, you have to go down to at least 320 to start removing serious metal, Pete
