I carried 165 gr. Hydra-shok rounds for a while in my SA Champion (4"). I felt this was a better bullet for "personal defense". However, it finally sank into my brain that the 165 gr. rounds were hitting low at the range. The Champion has fixed sights. The 230 gr. rounds were right on target. I now carry 230 gr. rounds for "personal defense".
