Did someone put a Colt Ace Kit on it, or is it a newer conversion? I vaguely recollect discussion about a Sistema .22 Lr conversion some time ago, but can’t remember the details now, but there are a few that have floated around. Folks here will need some pictures though?!

At some [point in time, the Argentines took standard 1927 pistols and converted them to .22LR for use as training pistols for the Buenos Aires Police. Some were imported in 1996 when I bought mine. They were set up to have the floating chamber just as the Colt Ace pistols do. While mine is reliable, it shoots very high and it's value as a training tool would be limited.

The standard military sights were meant to give proper point of impact with .45 ammunition at 50 yards, and with the speedy little .22 bullets of course they're not going to be properly regulated. That's why the Colt Ace had different sights on it than a standard M1911A1 or Government Model. If that pistol were mine I'd definitely swap out the sights for something high-profile and adjustable.

I purchased it with a spare mag as a collector piece. Changing anything on it would ruin it's originality. I've shot it very little and then only to confirm that it functions correctly.
