Just got my 1st Colt 1911, Series 80. Excellent condition, probably not even broken in. Cleaned it up and put my walnut stocks on from my Kimber CDP II. With Colt short trigger, standard stocks still allow my little hand to properly grip the gun. Trigger is heavy and a little sloppy, but no over-travel. Reminds me a little of Saigon 1969 except it is only about 25 degrees outside, about 70 degrees cooler than that swamp. I guess I bought myself my own and early Christmas gift. Just couldn't resist this post.

Unexpected . . .

Standard walnut stocks from my Kimber and short trigger on Colt Series 80 seem more comfortable than thin Alumagrips and original trigger on my CDP II.

Ah ... the mysteries of being a 59 year old rookie.
