The owner said it's for trade, not for sale. He likely put that price on there just to keep somebody from saying he wants to buy it instead. Then again, if somebody IS dumb enough to give him $2250.95 for it I'm sure he'll say yes!
That is a VERY rare bird and if you have an early 1911 with the barrel replaced (as many were) it would be well
worth the money. I've been looking for one for years as I have an early 4 digit 1911 in about 95% condition
with a replaced barrel.
Unfortunately, I have nothing to trade that he's looking for. The other issue is that it could be a "fake".
The lip of the barrel hood where the "H" is struck looks like new and does not compare with the wear
on the rest of the barrel.
