The local gun shop can apparently order 20-round magazines for my Para-Ord S14. The thing is, I'm a bit leery. Does anyone know a bit more about how these feel, and how far they stick out? Maybe how reliable they are?

I can't seem to find a lot of information or any pictures out there, so I was just trying to see if anyone else had experience with them.

I am no expert on Para mags, except to the extent that I have three P14 mags, fitted with Grams basepads and followers; they are just less than 140mm in length, measured along the rear edge, and they hold 18 rounds. I don't have my inch/metric conversion table handy, but I'd bet a 20 round mag would extend about an inch-and-a-half below the frame.

I saw the 20 rounders today at the gun show.

IMHO, they look ridiculous. Granted, I didn't see one seated in a pistol, but to my eye, they look at least 1 1/2 times as long as a standard P14 mag.

since "First it must go bang"

Suggest sticking with high-quality proven magazines, like from Para.

14 rds is still alotta rds, ay?

Makes sense... They just cost the same as the para mags, so I thought it warranted some research.

Thanks for the help.
