I may go just for the hell of it since it is not that far away and my wife likes to go to Tunica, which is just down the road from Lake Cormorant, so I understand. Assuming I reshoot the classifier with my new Springfield by then I will be CDP. How do you apply to go to the nationals?
It's a pretty sure bet that it's too late now...hope my application was one of the luckey ones selected before it filled up!

Mikey
I'm pretty sure it's full by now. We Fedex our applications, it got there Monday morning. Hope to see you there Mikey.
p.s. Hey Mikey, had any linguine lately?

Hey Mikey,
Are you bringing that "gamer" wheeliegun to the nationals?

If I get in I'll be shooting SSR (Gamer Revolver) but I've declared Sharpshooter Class. Even though my first (and only) classifier with the revo was Marksman Class, I seem to have improved faster than expected.
In the two months since I started playing like a revolver shooter I've been to 3 major matches (AL, GA and Southern Regional). I was a solid Marksman at AL. Then at GA a few weeks later I was shooting well enough to have placed in the middle of the Sharpshooters. At the Southern I really showed my butt and shot a score that would have been second in Sharpshooter Class (the Sharpshooter winner would have won Expert!) so I moved myself up. I plan to shoot another classifier in the next few weeks to confirm my class.

I'm getting the chambers on "Ol' Gamey" chamfered as we speak so I'll REALLY have the gamer thing going after that! Just hope those 155 grain 40's make power factor sitting on top of magnum primers - think of the money I'll save by not buying powder!

Mikey,
You might want to load one or two grain of powder, just in case you hit a weak primer, there is nothing like trying to extract 2-3 bullets ot of a barrel.
I'll probally be dragging along the old model 10. I am buying another (IDPA Legal) 686, in the next week or so, if I can get my hands on the gear, I just might bring it along.
Remember the ported 686 I had a the Ga. State Match? RickyT and I were discussing swapping the ported barrel out, and putting a standard 3" barrel on it. Any thoughts?

Steve,

I think you know how I feel about ported barrels on defensive arms...the only thing better than a ported barrel is ANY OTHER barrel! A revo already blows enough hot gas and debris out the cylinder gap, why blow more out the barrel? To quote a famous line from a famous movie "You'll put your eye out!"

If I was doing the swap I would opt for the 4" instead of the 3" but that's just because I'm such a gamer. The 3 looks cool on a 686, kinda like a "Super Snubbie". And if you have gotten used to that "smoked" look on the front sight just black it up with a Bic.

Mikey
Sent my app in. Hope to shoot my Caspian .40 S&W single stack in ESP (Extra Special Poodleshooter).

Mikey,

I keep tellin' SteveW, the year is 2001 not 1901! You wheelers are stuck in the wrong century.

Hey Mayonaise, just ask anybody who knows me - I don't cull ANYTHING. If it shoots, I'll shoot it. And if it don't shoot, I'll sharpen it 'till it shaves!

Auto, revo, single shot, pistol, rifle, shotgun or sword...if I ain't got it (or had it), they ain't made it...

Remember, WWIII will most likely be fought with rocks and spears - at least the last half of it.

Mikey
Mikey,
I should be getting a 4" 686 this week. It's the mate to the Custom Service 3" that I showed you, only it's not ported. I talked to some guys that used to carry ported guns as duty guns, and they showd me a few tricks that I'll show you next time we run into each other. Are you going to be able to make it down for the next South River IDPA Match, this month?

Mayo,
One of these days I might get me a tupperware gun like yours. I figure by the time I get around to it, They'll have one in a color that matches my kitchen.
Maybe I'll go ahead and get a Croation Sensation, I hear they are pretty good guns.

I'm just jerkin' your chains. Mostly SteveW's. Who, like yourself is pretty damn proficient with his M10.

Hey, I've shot the Croation sensation. It works. Like I've said it's the entry level urban combat pistol. Handgun of choice for bicycle drive bys.

Hey Mikey,
I got my "new" 686 today. It's a gamer special, 4" NONPorted, with a really nice trigger job on it. I'll let you know how it does on it's first trip to the range with me.
