Any body ever put a .22 conversion on their springfield?

Springfield recommends against it.

Can it be done safely, without damaging the frame?

Thank You ina dvance.

I have used both the Marvel Unit 2 and the Kimber .22 conversion on my Mil Spec Springer. No problems, tight fit and actually some very good for 1911 trigger time at a nice low expense. I can't speak for how they would fit and work on other Springer models.

Be safe, shoot well.

I have a Marvel #1 on my TGO2 frame. It works perfectly.

I rank that warning right up there with not shooting reloads.

Have a Ceiner on top of a Mil-Spec and it runs like a hot rod..great shooting and a perfect fit..wish they made one for the 38 Super..then I would have a 9MM, a 38 Super and a 22 all on the same frame..all5x

I read on here maybe that Marvel didn't want their unit on 1911s' with a hammer with half cocked and no firing pin safety as Marvel felt if the hammer dropped from half cocked a .22 might go off where a .45ACP wouldn't.
