I bought a Browning 1911-22 about a year ago. 1911-22 A1 Full Size
After I bought the pistol I bought a Hilljak magazine loader, https://hilljak.com/shop/ols/products/taurus-tx22-quickie-loader-blue
Hasn't given me any problems what so ever, easy to disassemble for inspection & cleaning. Fun to shoot, accurate enough for me to hit six inch steel @ 25 yards.
It does have a "magazine safety" that prevents the hammer from falling unless a mag is inserted.

If I was going to buy something new for plinking and all around fun. This is likely the way that I would go.
