I loaded some .380 brass with a 95 grn Rainer FMP over 3.9 grns of Unique. The manuel shows a loading of 4.2. Even though I was well below this, upon shooting them, they seemed a little hot. They definately had more recoil than the Federal American Eagle 95 grn FMJ that I shot for comparison. What gives with this? Has anyone chronoed these loads? Anyone have a load they use with Unique?

OAL on my reloads about .975 OAL on factory stuff about .964 (lot of variation on factory loads, I was suprised to see) The load recipe calls for
.975 min OAL. I thought about making mine shorter, just because of lesser charge, but am now glad I didn't. I weighed and reweighed my charges to be sure of the 3.9 grns. Maybe I should try a slightly longer OAL? My SIG232 will accept a longer one.
