I am putting the pieces together for a .40 s&w ESP pistol. I plan to use a full size Para. Any suggestions on loads would be appreciated. Especially O.A.L. of cartridge, bullet weight & style used, primer type, powder type & charge, velocity and finished crimp diameter.
I also need a good source for 40 brass, do you know of any?

Thanks,
Keith

Keith,

I think you should stay with the CDP or SSP and give us ESP guys a break....
......

I too have had good luck with the Miwall reloads, If you want to try some I'm sure we could work something out

I'll be at the SDPS match tommorrow at SVSC or I'll see you on your home turf on the 27th

talk at you later

I tried a new load that worked perfectly for IDPA ESP or SSP last week.

4.0 grains Clays or 4.0 grains Titegroup
180 grain Bull-X T-Cone hard cast bullet
1.180" OAL
902 FPS
Power factor 162
16 lb. recoil spring used

I couldn't tell the difference between the two powder choices. I shot 500 rounds of each over the week in practice then showed up at the local IDPA club and ran through the classifer with a 40 Para LDA in 104 seconds. After that I shot the regular match. No malfunctions occurred. I will also try 4.0 grains of WST next week. The gun was not too dirty upon returning home and cleaning it.

Thank you for the replies. I buy primers from Miwall, but have never tried their reloads. I have a Dillon 1050, so it is hard to justify buying reloads

Kahana, after shooting some of the stages in Ione I decided I needed a 10 round ESP pistol. Plus I shot a Para .45 for years in IPSC, so a .40 Para seems a nice choice. If I could get a CCW here in CA I would stick with the Glock.

Thanks again,
Keith
