I don't think it will work.
What barrel were you going to use, 9mm?
The .45 slide's ejector cut will NOT line up with the 9mm ejector.
A 9mm firing pin is too small for the hole in the .45 slide and would let primers crater. A 9mm extractor will not reach the rim of a 9mm case in the .45 breechface.

You can put the .45 slide on the 9mm frame and use the 9mm extractor IF YOU MUST. You will need to buy the ejector and .45 firing pin/spring.

You cannot shoot 9mm from a .45 slide if that is what you are asking.

You might be able to convert your 9mm frame to shoot 45's using your 45 slide, assuming the 45 magazines fit in the frame properly. But, as JamesP mentioned you can not use a 45 slide to shoot 9mm.

The reason is the width of the breech face. The 45 breech face is wider than the 9mm, so the extractor will be set out farther than needed for a 9mm. So if you attempted to feed a 9mm into a 45 slide it probably will not extract since the extractor will probably not be in contact with the case. In fact in a 1911 the extractor is used to control feeding, so if you tried to feed 9mm with a 45 slide you might just push the rounds out of the pistol and not into the barrel at all. This may be a bit of a stretch, but strange things can happen when you are mis-matching parts.
