Anyone know of a place to buy cheap bult 7.62x39mm ammunition that is not steel jacketed?

At my local range they don't allow me to shoot steel jacketed ammo, glad I found out before I purchased a couple cases of the junk(being as I can't shoot it).

Thanks,

Alright, thanks.

I had some other russian HP's that were steel jacketed, so I'll have to find some Wolf and check em.

I've had really good luck with "Cheetah" 7.62x39 in my SKS. Not only is it not steel jacketed, but the case is brass as well. It's very accurate and clean... and extremely cheap to boot. I buy it at the local gun show for around $7.50 per box of 40, but you can get it even cheaper online I'm sure...

chinese ammo. I've found that brass cased 7.62x39 splits alot
in my AKs, steel is laquared and slick, all my ammo is Wolf with brass HPs or SPs , can't figure what your looking for, no flame:confused:

Tim, Are you refering to the "Bi-Metal" bullet casing? Most Wolf is made this way. 60% steel. 40% copper. You can test this with a magnet. Just make sure your only putting the magnet to the bullet and not the case. I know Wolf makes some that is not Bi-Metal. But I havn't been able to locate any. I think their .223 ammo is all copper jacketed. Don't know if this helps any.
