I've had really good luck with "Cheetah" 7.62x39 in my SKS. Not only is it not steel jacketed, but the case is brass as well. It's very accurate and clean... and extremely cheap to boot. I buy it at the local gun show for around $7.50 per box of 40, but you can get it even cheaper online I'm sure...
