I bought two Metalform 45-777B's (7-rd., round follower, removable baseplate) and am having trouble with them. They seat way too hard in my LB Custom Carry, and even if I really slam them in they sometimes come loose when I rack the slide. Is this a problem with the mags or with my pistol? Thanks.

I have quite a few 1911 mags from various manufacturers, and they all worked fine in my Colt and Kimber pistols. When I got a full size LB a few years ago I found that several of the mags (don't remember which ones) would not lock up even when inserted hard. Solved the problem by simply relieving the top of the mag notch a bit. Apparently LB's have the lock located slightly higher than most pistols.

Les will tell you it's mandatory to use his magazines.

Yes, but what he won't tell you is that they frequently fail to feed. Next time I'll save the extra for a Wilson or an Ed Brown. No more LB's.
