Howdy:

My wife's Springer Ultra Compact in 9mm has Chip MCCormick magazines that have metal spacers in the back of the mag, indicating that they are altered .38 Super mags.

I was wondering if a BBL swap (9mm to .38 Super), .38 Super mags, heavier recoil spring & possibly firing pin spring would turn her alloy frame, Officer's ACP-sized 9mm into a compact .38 Super?

Any issues as to frame durability regarding .38 Super & alloy frames?

Thanks for any tips.

9mm mags have always had spacers in the back

All you have to do is change the barrel and you have a 38 Super

there should be no problems at all

I have done it several times in 1911s and commanders
