They had just taken this Colt Model M on consignment. I bought it as I have never owned one before. I ran the number through Springfield Research and got a hit so I ordered a letter from them...

Question..

.32 ACP type 4 (manf. 1945,maybe 1946)?

You must have got it because you have virtually every GI .45 ever made:D ,I wonder what you will come up with next? Very nice pistol, more power to you John but save a few for the rest of us.

Thanks Scott..

I'll have to look up my notes and correct them as the article on them I had gave ranges of 45/46(I think I got it out of an issue of Gun Digest years ago),any idea of rank of officers issued them? Had a captain overseas that carried one, don't know if personal or issued as in those days(50/51/52) you could carry almost anything you wanted to,didn't get chance to see if blue/park.I always thought the issued ones were for the higher ranks.

Wow! At one time he was chief of staff of the same unit I eventually became a member of, the 40th Infantry Division.
