Just another noob checking in. I'm a C&R nerd, and bit of an eclectic one-of-each type collector that seldom goes too in depth on any one thing. As part of that, I just got my CMP 1911, and I'm beginning the process of getting to know it.
Welcome from NW Georgia 🇬🇪. 1911’s are the pistols that all others are judged by. Lots of help on this site. We like pictures.

Welcome to the forum. Post some good (natural light if possible) photographs showing all sides, all marking (inspector's mark and such), and even remove the slide and take photographs of any markings or stamps found on the barrel. I'm confident our knowledgeable members will provide you the lowdown on your CMP 1911.

Now that’s a nice looking pistol. Bet it shoots good to. 1911’s Forever
You know how the CMP's description says "pistol requires minor work to return to issuable condition but is functional"? Drifting the rear sight over a bit seems to be the work the inspector was referring to. I've only had it out to the range once so far. It shot a nice tight group a few inches to the left of where I was aiming.
