Referring to my recent purchase of a Gold Cup National Match Ser No. 3444 NM and the blemishes on the slide, I would like to have this gun reblued in the original "Royal Blue" finish. Do you know who does this? Does Colt still do this? Would I be ruining this gun by having this done?

Colt's website still lists refinishing in Royal Blue as still being available. However, they do not guarantee that all pitting will be removed and they also warn that your rollmarks may be thinner after refinishing. More information is available at http://www.colt.com/colt/html/c3_refinishing.html

About ten years ago I had Colt refinish a pre-70 commercial, and they f***ed it up. Hopefully they care a little more about the end product these days.
If you guns is 90% or better finish overall I'd suggest leaving it alone. If you must have it refinished then talk to George over at Evolution Gun Works.
