Accessories that make a 1911 look ugly...

We all know about the infamous Hogue finger-grooved rubber grips and I think they look ugly on a 1911, IMO. What other accessories do you think makes a 1911 look ugly?

Personally, I like my 1911s in the basic "Government" look. I'm not too hot for extended magwells or drop-in compensators but they do look good in race-guns though...

This thread wouldn't have anything to do with a certain Custom Eclipse over on TFL would it?

As to the question: any optics mount, extended slide stop, trigger guard checkering, front slide serrations (though to me they're OK on an Eclipse for some reason), mag-wells, huge mag bump pads, colors other than silver, blue, or black, fiber optic front sights

Nice looking lady. I almost don't care that she's got her finger on the trigger.
...what 1911?

Personally I hate those big adj sights like *&* and others, sitting on top of a 1911
I can't stand a whitish color 1911 (stainless or hard chrome) with ivory grips. Come on now, white on white? It stands against all fashion statements

At any rate, white on white looks way too pimpy for my personal tastes.

Now ivory on a blued gun... eye candy!

I think someone needs to start sending more pics of the ladies with guns, as for the finger on the tigger she could fine on me anyday. We all know what looks good behind the gun anyway. lmao
I don't like most add-on stuff, as it looks, well, added-on. Mag wells, extended slide stops, oversize mag releases, front cocking serrations, being most obvious. For some reason, the Ed Brown magwell doesn't bother me, and even looks kind of cool; probably because it doesn't lengthen the grip. I too, like the gun in its basic, G.I. configuration.
Kimber Lady is going to get mad at you guys.

Fair enough!

I go along with ArmySon. I don't like ivory on stainlee or nickel. Put Ivory on a deep blued 1911 and use rosewood or mahogany for the stainless and nickle.

Okay... It looks like this one has a Gold Plated Slide Release, an Thumb Safety... No thanks!

Some Two Tone guns are nice, some are kinda ugly... I hate Mirror Finishes on most handguns... Too Pimpy for me... Same goes for Chromed, and Mirror Finished parts like Safeties, etc.

Also, Stocks/Grips with too much fancy engraving, Finger Grooves/Thumb Rests.
What a sad world it would be if we all liked the same thing !! Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, seems like someone once said that !! To each his own !! I love MY pimp pistols..........oh yea, nice ladies..
Hey Son: Is that girl with the shiny 1911 related to you?

Make sure you dont have any spaces, that's what did the trick for me.
I'll try your link and see if it works

Yep, there was a space between the .jpg and the [/IMG]
