BB, When we get the grips, they will be photographed and posted on the Pickagrip website. For now, all I can tell you is the Gaboon Ebony we ordered is jet black in color. I'll give you a heads up when they are posted so you can take a look.

BB, We just got a batch of 1911 grips, which I am in the middle of posting to the site. The Ebony Tactical grips are # A324, bottom of the first page. They should be posted in a couple of hours.
BB, African Blackwood has been described to me as a very dense and heavy wood, and fairly rare, hence the prices for the grips made of the stuff. If you hold the ebony and the blackwood grips side by side in your hand, you can note the weight difference. Blackwood polishes up to a gloss, I suppose due to it's density (look at the uncut diamonds around the grips screw holes). Neither does it appear to be brittle. Hope this helps.
