...that I have a question about. Hopefully I don't sound too dumb, here goes. My front sight on my 1911 seems a bit loose. The gun dates to 1918 and the sight is the small blade. I have heard about this but I am not sure how big of a problem it is. Is this thing going to fly off never to be found? I want to shoot the gun but I am not sure if I should. Thanks in advance!

If your unaltered 1918 front site falls off during a firing session. I will give you a 1916 Colt Commercial or a 1918 Remington UMC. Not gonna happen and if it does, what you want?

I had one once that was a little loose too. I put a few drops of red Loctite on the stud and let it seep inside, and it held solidly ever since.

Thanks for the info guys. You can imagine my horror as I found the loose sight and had visions of it flinging down range under a hail of gunfire!
