Nice work! That's the first time I've seen all-checkered Ironwood. They look great, especially the screw hole detail.

Nicely figured wood.

Curious, what's the rationale behind the extended slide stop on what appears to be a defensive carry pistol ?

Hi Archer,

in my opinion, a defense pistol is a pistol that the owner feels completely comfortable in using. Regardless whether comfortability means reliability, accuracy, functionality or all of the above. This Kimber, at it's current state is the most "comfortable" gun for me with the way it is set up, and completely reliable despite actions to prove otherwise, so it is the perfect defense weapon for me :D I actually do not label and will never use this pistol for defense purposes unless absolutely needed, I got my 12 ga defense shotgun for that :D
