Howdy folks!

I've always had revolvers, but have also always LOVED the 1911.

Hope hangin' out here will help me figure out which model would be a good fit for my discernin' taste and modest budget.

Gotta be stainless, as rustable guns have a tendency to do just that in my care. : )B

P.s. TacomaWorld has been my only form of social media for quite a while, but a 1911 forum? Count me IN!

For most of my handgun experience I used revolvers but a lot of those were 45acp. I had a not great history with the 1911 platform with a miserable Colt Series 80 in the mid 1980s and a Dan Wesson Pointman/Patriot a couple decades later.

Then I recently bought a Tisas 1911 Army model and it was everything a 1911 should be. I find it very much like my Colt New Service, Brazilian Contract 1917s and my S&W 25s. Since then, three other Tisas 1911s have followed me home and each has been reliable, accurate, good looking and fun to shoot. And even the stainless steel models are relatively affordable.

Thans for the info! I have never even heard of Tisas before visiting this website where they seem to be much loved.
Here is a pic of my most recent gift from my wife, a Ruger Wrangler .22 on the right and my trusty Single Six .22 on the left.

Welcome from Ohio. Ruger SR1911 is a nice stainless for the price.

I love me a Ruger!
Maybe one day I'll have an SR1911....one day.

This little thing is as close to a 1911 as I thought I was gonna get!

Pretty nice weight for a $40 dollar toy, mostly metal (seems to be all metal on the outside parts) and a sweet magazine that prolly holds 50 airsoft BBs.
