The polished flats on my gun really look to a fun house mirror. If this is true of most Springfields, what is the cause. Do they not press or roll the steel enough? Do they hand forge the slides? Other manufactures don't have this problems do they?
The polished slide flats on my Commander are flat, as are the flats on my older blued Springfield. I have seen other guns that had wavy flats, but I can't recall the manufacturers.

I've noticed this more on the blue guns than the parkerized or stainless guns. Usually on the older models, haven't seen it as much in recent years. Might give SA a call and see if they can help you out.
