I know they are well respected for XDs and for coatings. Would like to know of experience with custom work on 1911s. (yes, I know that SA does great work but have a reason for asking this).

Thanks

AFAIK, SA's custom shop is well respected. Their work is good and turn-around times are reasonable. They will even accept a box of parts,(frame, slide, etc.) from a customer and build an entire gun, even if it's not one of theirs.

Don't know much about Springer Precision.

Parallax,
Thanks, I have used SA and they are great but the time involved is not workable. So, looking for feedback on Springer Precision. I know they do fast and good quality work on the XDs.
