Here is a follow-up report from another list by the same well-known bullseye pistolsmith:

"Last week I wrote about how I liked the new Charles Daly's compared to the early versions.

This is just to caution you newbies in gunsmithing. Don't work on these guns yet unless you can make some tools to recut some of the internal metals. If you are not familiar with installing barrels confedently than don't try these guns yet. You will ruin some barrels doing it. Remember I only mentioned that I liked the fit of the slide to frame and the metal hardness. Also the parts that is not silver soldered in place.

This gun that I am finishing up will be test fired on Wednesday. Will give you the results later."
