Sort of. AR 15 Complete Assembly Guide and AR 15 Complete Owners Guide by Walt Kuleck and Clint McKee are useful. If you want to know how to assemble/disassemble ARs, the AR 15 Complete Assembly Guide is the far better choice. However, neither book does much in terms of modifications. I can't think of a tome that does. Mostly, I've cruised AR15.com and m4carbine.net for that kind of info.
