Just wondering if it is OK to post stuff about the Inglis high powers? It seems like there are none here, so as a new guy around, I didn't want to post something not wanted.

Actually the Inglis HPs have some serious problems and have to be sent to me for the proper inspection and verification processes. I ususally only take a couple of months <cough> or year <cough> but you'll have it back before you know it. Then, you'll be more than welcome to discuss it here on the forum.

Just kidding, let's see that Canadian bad boy.

Yahoo well here we go then. The main theme of my collection of junk is Canadian.. I live in the Western part of the county, which is totally different than the east, so please don't blame us for what the morons in our gov't do.
Sorry for the big pics.

First pic is my 6T series Inglis. Basically NIB, but of course the decal has a bit of it flaked off. They were a simple water transfer decal that was very fragile and chiped off easily, so I happy with what I have. Also is the WW2, 37 pattern web gear and lanyard, which also pretty well NIB. The holster is the first pattern 1944 dated, along with the pouch for the 3 mags and oil bottle. This one mostly just hangs on the wall.

Here is what is left of the Inglis plant that produced the HP as well as some Bren guns and other minor stuff for the war effort.
I took these pics 2 summers ago as this area of Toronto is near the lakeshore and it was being turned into new condo areas. Not much left, but if you have the Collectors Grade book, "Inglis Diamond" these buildings are pictured. Those are my legs, with the rest of me cut off in the pics.

Here are a couple pics of my old "shooter". It's the HP on the left. It started life as a pitted/worn out commercial HP with the german chicken on it. I found the top slide and barrel at a show and a buddy of mine did the park job. The 6T Inglis original is the one on the right. Also the decal on the shooter is one that another buddy made up... He does them on his computer and puts them on water transfer decal paper and they turn out pretty good. It's obvious they aren't original, but thought I would put one on my newly parked heater... You can see the original decal on the right and how it's not complete. I took Mr Dremel to the back of the hammer of my shooter to make it quit biting me. It was a hack job that took all of 4 minutes, but no more blood.

Here's a close up of the decals.

Very nice pictures of some classic Inglis's . . . Thank you, it's a very nice change and something that's been missing since our old fnhipower forum went down for good.

I believe that Clive Law who authored the "Inglis Diamond" has some of the original decals in primo shape and was selling them at one point. But the dupes that your friend made are nice copies and would look nice on any Inglis.

I only have one but treasure it among my HP collection. Would like to get a "CH" with shoulder stock someday.

Thanks again and Welcome to the group.

great shots-that is too cool!
it's amazing to think what a high speed weapon the HP was back then, and with all the advancements and technology, it still is
cheers,

As soon as I get to it I will post my Inglis pics. Mine is mint as well but not NIB as it has been a shooter for sometime now. Accuracy is great. Friend has another mint Chinese contract Inglis which will be next on my list. To think the Gov't has thousands of these sitting in a warehouse unissued scares me.

koldt - did you get yours off of canandiangunutx forum. Your guns twin was sold recently for $1,100 Cdn. Missed it by hours!

I assume it is a real shooter.

I've had mine for years and I know the history of it since the 60's anyway. It didn't have a "green slip" for it until about 1992ish. Those of us in Canada will know what that is. I got it shortly after is made it, "into the system". ($300 Can, about $200US at the time)

I have had pics of it on the CGN forum, but not for sale. My shooter is more or less for goofing around with, as any other shooting I do, ie. PPC stuff is more "mission specific". I haven't shot the shooter since I got the park. job done a few weeks ago. Too many guns, not enough time and an 8 month old in the house. He's working on his trigger control already.

I just picked up the most recent Canadian Forces military op manual. They are refered to as PAMS. I'll get some pics on later. So I've got them dated from 1945, 1953, 1970 and now 2004.

The hardest thing to find, even harder than an Inglis with a decal, is the mag pouch. 45 dated. When I got it in a box of other stuff I bought, I wasn't sure if in fact it was a real Canadian Army piece of equipment. This was before Clive had his book out. So I actually phoned Clive and he confirmed that it was in fact real, very rare, but probably was not issued in time for ww2. I like to think it was there.

Had an uncle in the Tank corp. Africa, Sicily, Italy then N.W. Europe. Carried a revolver from '42 after finishing Officer Training to 1946. Never shot it once. Had it out at the Fallis Gap to escort some Jerry prisnors. That was it. I guess he was pre-occupied with his Sherman and keeping it from becoming his coffin. LOL

I don't sell them. Headdamage on the CGN board does. He lives here in Calgary. I also talked him into making some 3" stickers.. For gun cases, etc..

I had a tea with him last weekend and he is hoping to make some more of the water transfer decals and the stickers within a couple weeks, hopefully.
He was asking a very reasonable price for a strip of 5 decals. I don't want to say a firm price as they are his to sell.

The originals that were for sale a couple years ago went for $400 for a strip of I believe 8. The new ones won't be quite that expensive:)

As soon as I hear anything from him and maybe have a few in my hands I'll post something here and on CGN (when it's back up) and let you fella know the final price. Don't quote me, but I am thinking that the strip of 5 decals will be in the $10 neighbourhood. I am waiting patiently for the stickers.....

I was told the Inglis red brick building may have been an administrative type office, and the AR Williams building was a manufacturing site.

Here is one of the assembly line buildings. Basically out of the mulititude of buildings, these 3 are all that is left.. For our US buddies, Inglis was/is a washing machine and refridgerator manufacturing company.

And for any guys that may be interested in trying to make their own, here is a pic that could be used as a template. It's the best I can do for now, hope it may help someone.
