Can a slide be re-blued after removing the Armor-Tuff? It seems like I read somewhere that the teflon in the bake-on finishes penetrates the steel and remains even after the finish is worn off. I have a Classic two-tone that appears to be a keeper and I thought I might want to spend some money on up-grading it.

I think so...

I know I had my entire Protector Armor-Tuff finish stripped in preparation for milspec parkerizing (I had work done, necessitating a refinish, but chose to have something else).

After blasting off the finish, I guess the steel has to be polished and prepped, unless you're going for a beadblasted blue...
