I am getting ready to beadblast my Colt. I was wondering if I needed to do anything to the areas on the gun that are currently bead or sandblasted to the dark grey color, to ensure that I end up with an overall even color.

Does anyone have recomendations or hints as to what type or grade of bead to use, verses the end color.

I liked the satin finish that slydloc ended up with on AZhuskers gun. Something like that will be my end goal, maybe just a bit darker.

This is coarse grade aluminum oxide... I've tried finer grades and wasn't as pleased - wasn't particularly excited about glass beads, but since I also GunKote occasionally the AO media was necessary.
