I have a CCO with the factory beavertail (identical to the one on my defender). I got the Wilson drop in for a Colt, and it left kind of an ugly gap at the tang.

I don't like the hump on the factory bevertail, but it looks like if I grind it off, I will leave a hole.

Any suggestions?

thank you

Wilson makes two drop in BT's. One is marked for a Commander and the other for a Government Model. Colts with an enhanced slide (flat top) will take either. One will leave a gap (Gov Mod BT) and the other won't.

Hi

I have also tried this in a frame that has the 0.250 radius, and it leaves the gap there.

I bought the one for the Commander.

Maybe the CCO had the goverment beavertail?

thank you

These are before and after pictures. The pistol is a Colt 38 Super Gov Model with enhanced slide. The first pic is of a Government Model drop in safety, the second is the Wilson drop in for a Colt Commander. No slide cutting was required in either case. Same pistol, big difference :)

Looks like I have the correct wilson part, I guess the frame on the CCO is different.

thank you for the pictures and your effort.
