I have a parkerized Champion that I'd like to put a beavertail on. Which type would fit best, .250 or .225? What brand does Springfield use on the loaded models?

Thanks Brian

Springfields uses a .220 radius on their guns. That being said, I suggest using a McCormick high ride.

Someone on this forum recently informed me about an S&A beavertail made specifically for the Springfield frame. Haven't installed it yet, but it looks first rate. I believe it is a .220 radius like Mute said.

Thanks guys. I was just browsing Brownells and Smith & Alexander has a .020 radius beavertail and jig listed for Springfield.
Any idea what is the best way to touch up the parkerize finish when done?

Thanks Brian
