Who do you thinks makes the best flush (no base pad) magazine for a full-size 1911? I've looked in the Brownells catalog and the only ones they carry are Colt, Shooting Star and Metalform. I thought Chip McCormick made one also.

No problem.

There are a number of magazines that have base pads that are attached with screws, you can leave those pads off and have a flush magazine too. Just make sure that the base pad is not the thing that prevents over insertion of the magazine.

I have had the best luck with the rounded follower metalform. The mags were recommended to me by a customer and they have been totaly reliable. Same as the Wilson 8 rounders have been for me.

Be safe

I like Wilson's... Many of the other makes are good mags, and all have worked fine for me at various times, but I just like Wilson's, they have never failed me... Ever!

Now, they are making a flush metal base plate... For those looking for flush base options, it's certainly one to consider... You can also just change base plates if you have some of the "standard" 47's.
