I was hoping someone could tell me a little about the use of the BHP in WWII. I've seen on some of the auction sites that the Nazis used them a bit, but what about the Allies? Did any country use the BHP in large numbers?

Thanks

The British "commando" units like their SAS and paratroopers I am led to believe had Inglis HP's issued to them, the latter group probably meaning Officers and certain other individuals.

Hello. While it has nothing to do with the history aspect of your post, THE most accurate, non-modified HP I have ever shot was a Chinese contract Ingles! It seemed nothing special in terms of fit and certainly not finish, but it grouped like no other HP I've ever fired.

I could not buy it from the owner.

Best.
