I bought one of these for my youngest kid so she could have fun when trout aren't biting: http://www.browning.com/products/firearms/pistols/1911-22.html

This gun is a blast to shoot. So far, it's only punched holes in targets. It's far more accurate than I had expected. I'd go with it being good for small game such as jackrabbits within 25 yards or so.

I'd recommend this gun for anyone wanting 1911 fun in a scaled size. You'll probably wind up shooting it more that you'd think.
Great gun for youngsters. Teach to shoot the best pistol in the world at a young age. Good for you.

I love my Browning 1911 22. Kids and several women I help shoot really do well with them.

I have let several a bunch of folks shoot mine and a couple have almost immediately gone out and bought one for themselves and families. Quite an endorsement, I always thought, since they are not inexpensive.

No one has ever complained about the little browning to me.
