I just bought my first synthetic holster and I was just wondering, are synthetic holsters supposed to be easier on bluing than leather holsters?

No worse than leather. You will get wear at the muzzle, front of the frame, and possibly the sharp edges of the slide.

Emmo, all holsters regardless of material or lining will wear on a guns finish. Friction is friction and will always be with us. Things that determine the amount and effects from friction are how often you draw and holster the firearm, how well the holster fits the gun (if it fits poorly the gun will move around in the holster while you move, the care and cleaning the holster is given.
