Since I have only recently gotten into the 1911 shooting, I was wondering if you guys had any opinions on good books or videos on basic 1911 tuneup or "tinkering".

Specifically,
- Traning
- Complete disassembly (i can do the cleaning already)
- Reloading (never done this before)

As always, any help would be appreciated.

Jerry Kuhnhausen at http://www.gunbooks.com has two very good books on the 1911. The first is better for you at this stage of your game since it is more for the home smith. He also offers videos and a nifty wall chart on the 1911.

Bill Wilson at http://www.wilsoncombat.com has a good basic book too I've been told. I've not seen one to comment further.

For on line help of total stripping of the 1911 there is http://www.m1911.org and http://www.sightm1911.com both of which should help you.

Midway USA at http://www.midwayusa.com has at least one book of just .45 ACP loads as well as reloading supplies.

Mike Dillon at http://www.dillonprecision.com has several reloading books listed in his catalog and web site as well as his brand of loading presses and equipment.
