What's the best/reasonably priced .45 brand?

I've used S&B, but it seems a little dirty.

Federal seems a little pricey.

Is there a happy medium?

Thanks and Happy Shooting, Thunder25

I mostly shoot reloads, but I have also bought and shot Winchester "white box" ammo and Remington UMC ("yellow box") ammo. Both are often quite reasonable at the local Wal-Mart.

(My Kimber happens to like Federal American Eagle, however. Shoots it like a dream.)

I have been very happy with PMC hard ball ,I pick it up here from my retailer in case lots for about 10.00 a box. Been good ammo all the way through.

I agree with h_tolley, but as it turns out, that means it most closely resembles the Hydrashoks I shoot in flash and recoil, Blazer that is. I find it is the closest thing to actual defense ammo in behavior without shooting the actual defnese ammo and it is a lot cheaper.
