Can anybody tell me where I can find a good breakdown and instructions on how to detail strip a 1911. I know that there are areas on the 1911 that take special knowledge to work on. I do my own work on my Glocks thanks to a detailed breakdown an instructions I got off the Glock forum and was hoping some one here could lead me in the right direction. I got my first 1911 6 mos. ago and am in heaven, first a Para P10 and next a Kimber Custom Classic, but now the P10 is having trouble ejecting rounds, I've polished the throat but it looks like the ejector is worn and time to upgrade to a hardened one from Para Ord. Thank you for your help>

Welcome aboard!!

Whitebear posted a great link, and for the money, the Kuhnhausen books on the 1911 are good to have around.

Kuhnhausen is tops, although my cheap-o copy of the Wilson Combat Maintenance Manual is dogearred and covered in Hoppe's #9. I save the Kuhnhausen reading for when I'm in my smoking jacket, pipe in hand
