Both threaded holes in the right side of my frame are mangled beyond cleaning the threads with a stock size tap (someone's misguided attempt at staking). The left hand side threads are fine. I am interested in using the oversize tap/bushings that Brownells sell to fix this problem. From the picture (a bad one at that), it looks like the thread-cutting portion is farther form the tip of the tap than the width of the frame. If this is the case, the tool would cut into the threads of the left side bushing hole while cutting threads in the right. Is this right, or can one side of the frame be re-threaded only with this tool?

Dan. The tool works just fine to cut one hole at a time. I've been using that tap for years. The picture is just a tad screwed up.
