My Hi Power is Marked on the left side :
FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE
HERSTAL - BELGIQUE
BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE

The barrel through the ejection port is marked :
CAL. 9m/m P
Under the ejection port is : 9561
Under the slide on the frame is : 9561

On the front of the frame grip is : LGKK
0968

The bottom of the magazine is marked the same as the front of the frame grip : LGKK
0968
It is is in 98% original dull blue finish. The original walnut grips are perfect with sharp checkering/
The bore is perfect.
It has the early internal extractor and round hammer.
It is in the original FN box.
What do I have and how old is it ?

I think it is a Austrian police contract gun. LGK stands for Landes Gendarmerie Kommando. The last K is for Kärnten (Carinthia) which is the state on the southern border with Italy and Yugoslavia. I think they are from the 40's or 50's for the rural or border type police.

Google away under Landes Gendarmerie Kommando or Komando. Nice find and hope you enjoy it.
