I have an old HP that doesn't have the Browning name on it just the fn nameit has a slot milled in the back of the grip for a shoulder stock and a tangent rear site marked out to 500 meters I was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me how old it was the serial #is 11XXX so it is one of the earlier ones. thanks Clay

If your HP is stamped with a SA inside of a box at these locations; in front of the slide stop lever and on the right side above the serial number on the frame, then you have a HP that was purchased by Finland. They were aquired from FN just before the Germans invaded Belgium in May 1940. The serial number of your HP falls into the range that Finland purchased. Most of them were issued to the Finnish Air Force.
