The problem with using court challenges to redress routine gov't violation of the constitution is it is playing wack a mole, the government will just keep doing it. The idea of court challenges makes sense for exceptions, not routine policy. The problem is the routine policy position of these gov't people is to violate the constitution willy nilly.

Last I checked the constitution, you had a right to own or carry a firearm for 'no good reason'.
And I'm sure if he asked the people carrying they'd tell you they had a darned good reason, in fact. It might not be good enough for that AG or some politicians, but fortunately these creatures are not the ones who get to decide our rights.
They do unfortunately, manage to throw impediments in their way. Playing wack a mole and suing each violation while they cook up ten more is buying into their game. It is better than nothing and I admire the effort but if this is the strategy the gov't will keep playing too. Ultimately we need to clean house like Hercules washing the crud out of the stables. Anyone who supports unconstitutional laws goes. The problem with that is, you have to vote in someone else instead... and how many replacements are running for office who truly respect the bill of rights?

The scare jobs about armed citizens killing people left and right were old 20 years ago. The anti-gunners need to get some new propaganda. That's not old school, its decrepit.

Notice how in the editorial the Ledger basically wishes there wasn't a bill of rights.
I grew up in NJ, so I am not surprised that they have this view. I am a little surprised they'd be so open about their enemy being the bill of rights instead of the usual cliche of 'gun violence', but maybe they are getting bolder, or desparate.
Gun control is never about a handful of restrictions, it is about a mindset in which no one has any rights except a handful of gov't people and their sympathizers.

Here in the supposedly freer state of VA, the 4473 system has been down for going on three days no one can even buy a gun because the state police website won't work.
Head of the state police needs to be fired immediately for prohibiting lawful commerce and obstructing not only people's exercise of their 2nd amendment rights but also the function of the background check system.

Ironic, I left NJ to avoid just this sort of thing...
