Do Colt Commanders use the same bushing as the 5" model? The reason I ask is that my project Commander has a loose fitting bushing (Among other things), shorter than the bushing on my full size Kimber. I reason that it's to prevent binding/spring with the greater "Swing" of the Commander length barrel, OR someone replaced the stock one with an Officers ACP bushing.
Forgive my naivety, this is my first Commander. Had to have a Colt.

Commander bushing has to be shorter than GM to keep from striking the locking lugs. It doesn't have to be loose. Kings makes oversize Commander bushings for tightening the fit, available direct or from Brownells.
An OACP bushing will not fit a Commander at all.
