For your one and only, go for it.. You’ll end up with a custom 1911 set up how YOU want it.
Run a couple mags through and have a competent gunsmith go through it.

I’ve never understood the mentality of running an off the shelf firearm for self defense. Even the best companies make a lemon. Everything you stake your life on should be gone over by a competent smith and ready to go.

So, small world. I’m at the range today and I get talking with the guys next me. He says, try this Les Baer I just got. Turns out it’s this 1911. What a great shooting gun.. Smooth, accurate and well put together.
